It's good to go on little adventures. I have more fun when I get lost, explore, and have to rely on people and myself to find my way back again. That's how you learn about a country and it's culture. Not through a classroom, not through movie screenings, and not through tours. Put your face in it. Smell it. Taste it. Touch it. I promise you, when you come out of it you'll be happier.

From Day to Night Market

It's amazing the contrast of cultures in a place like Malaysia. It's one of the biggest cities I've ever seen, but the difference in class is so drastic. It seems like you're either really rich or really poor. Just like right now, I'm sitting at a starbucks, but across the street last night was a night market of people doing what they know best just to make a couple ringgit (1 ringgit = about 35 cents) cooking up fish and meats, selling fruits, vegetables, trinkets, and holistic medicines. I wish I could bottle up the sounds and smells of the experience and take it home with me. It makes me wonder which class has it better.

I made it to Malaysia.

So I made it, it was an exhausting 3 day trip, but I made it. The city is huge and the food never stops. I thought I was gonna lose weight but it looks like I'll be eating the typical 7 meals a day like every other malaysian. That's 7 meals of fruits and vegetables I've never heard of, much less tasted, curries, soups, and noodles.. Amazingly, I thought I'd be hearing all new weird music, but because of the tragedy that happened this weekend, it looks like Michael Jackson will be the soundtrack to this trip. Which when you think about it isn't too bad. Anyway, I'm in kinda a rush but I'll write more soon. All the best.
